Container Types

A freight container is an integral part of the entire transport industry, trade and transport. It is used as a vehicle (wagon, ship, aircraft, etc.) swap body adapted for mechanised loading, unloading and reloading from one type of transport to another. The dimensions and capacity of containers correspond to the carrying capacity and overall dimensions of vehicles, the strength and design of the container protects the contents during long journeys. Operation of the containers is possible in the temperature range from - 60 to +70°C.

Depending on the type of products shipped, the size, structure, design of containers, etc. Also, all containers are standardised by gross weight, overall dimensions, connection dimensions, as well as the design of devices for mounting them on wagons of railway and road vehicles and gripping bodies of loading and unloading machines. This enables multimodal transport by various means of transport, realising the door-to-door principle known in logistics. Listed below are some of the most common types of containers currently in use.

20' DRY CONTAINER

Using 20-feet containers for the transport of "dense" or small-sized heavy loads;

45' HIGH CUBE

The size of 45-feet sea containers has provided them with demand due to their large capacity. Using different types of transport, they carry oversized cargoes, including heavy, groupage, special equipment, cars, etc. Dimensional characteristics are standardised, so a 45-feet (high cube) container is adapted for international transport.

20' SIDE DOOR / OPEN SIDE

In addition, the 20-feet cargo container "Side door (Open side)" with open side wall is designed for easier and faster loading of bulk and bulky goods into the container. The 20ft OS combines the reliability and high protective features of the standard 20'DC with the ease of loading a platform or flat rack. The container can be loaded and unloaded without removing it from the trolley or railway platform.

20' REEFER CONTAINER

ISO refrigerated cargo container with machine cooling: an isothermal container with a temperature-controlled refrigeration unit.
20-feet refrigerated sea containers: Maintains a constant, carefully controlled temperature between -20°C and +20°C and is used to transport perishable products such as fresh meat, seafood, as well as bottled wine and goods sensitive to noticeable changes in environmental parameters.

40' REEFER CONTAINER

ISO refrigerated cargo container with machine cooling: an isothermal container with a temperature-controlled refrigeration unit.
These sea ref containers: can maintain a constant temperature between -20°C and +20°C and are used to transport perishable products such as vegetables, fruit, seafood and also fresh meat over long distances.
